At the Boght and Oakwood Veterinary Clinics we have a knowledgeable group of veterinary assistants. As their job title implies, they can assist the other members of the hospital team in caring for our patients.
They work in our treatment area assisting the doctors and licensed technicians with the daily care of patients in the hospital. This can involve monitoring surgical cases in recovery or running in house lab work. They are responsible for the feeding and cleaning of hospitalized animals at the direction of our doctors.
You will meet them in exam rooms during appointments obtaining a brief history, holding animals for exams and vaccinations, filling prescriptions or testing requests from the doctors, and transcribing notes into your pet’s medical record.
Throughout the hospital, they support the rest of the staff. Whether it’s answering phones, mopping up messes, or carrying bags of dog food to your car, they keep the hospital clean and running smoothly. With two busy practices and two locations, it takes a great group of people to work as a team to provide for the care of you and your pets. We are lucky to have an amazing assistant staff to accomplish this goal.
